Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How is CNC machining cost calculated?

The quick model adds material cost, machine time at the shop rate and one-time preparation cost. Selling price is cost divided by one minus the target margin.

Are margin and markup the same?

No. Margin is profit divided by selling price; markup is profit divided by cost. Dimvo asks for target margin and shows the resulting price.

What should a formal machine-shop quote add?

Add tooling, scrap risk, inspection, programming, finishing, subcontract work, packaging, transport, VAT and commercial conditions where applicable.
